anatoly.vtheatre.net -- I began my webbing from making this directory. About what I was teaching. And about what was not for classroom. Like writing, or just thinking.
Of course, I knew little about web-design; better say -- I knew nothing. The web is extremely useful for taking/making notes. And so it goes -- note on acting, directing, drama, film... Year after year. It's difficult to edit webpages: we do not edit yesterday's newspaper... but what about the updates? You see, first problem. Well, nobody "reads" webpages, we scan them, "pages"... another problem. No time to think about it; I am busy taking "subject" notes -- for future use? How will I use the notes? Problem, again... But I have to move on. ... anatoly.org 5.5.09

2005: The purpose of my online production books was to assist myself, cast and crew during pre-production and rehearsal periods. After the show is over I use webpages for my classes: directing, acting, drama.
2005 updates: Small Chekhov Fall * "Four Farces & One Funeral" -- Chekhov.05
Chekhov's one-acts are updated -- The Bear, The Proposal (1st act -- Oh, Love!), Wedding, Tobacco (Act II -- Ah, Marriage!), but I'm still working on the "funeral" (Last Day of Anton Chekhov). mini-chekhov I am teaching DramLit -- groups.yahoo.com/group/dramlit (subscribe) and see THR215 for subjects, topics, titles. Spring 2006 -- Waiting for Godot, Beckett -- new pages ( see shows ) As you can guess I am in the middle of redesigning my websites, including this one -- Theatre with Anatoly. Including the title, the name. How about "Virtual Theatre"? [2002] I have a new site with that name eTheatre and this is not "instructional" webpages. More of the research side. Or theory? The old directory Spectator is merging with vTheatre -- the same structure (Public, Actor, Director, Writer). So, I have to redo the default page (front or index) again! I call it Third Age! The 3rd millennium, of course. And my third life (see PostAmerica and other nonfiction). How to navigate the site: First -- top left, the floating frame, the index directories pages. Oh, no! There are many "service" pages: FAQ, help, guide, welcome and ect. There is Directories page: click and see it in the "floating frame"! Second -- the popup mini-windows with the basic links! Third way -- go to Classes directory and follow the syllabus! Finally -- the table at the bottom, or just click the link thr w/anatoly -- and you are back to the first page. WHAT NOT TO DO: Do not send me emails "I have a test tomorrow, please, help..." "I can't find anything about Biomechanics..." "What college can you recommend..." There are several Forums you can subscribe or unsubscribe yourself; I try to make my pages "self-serve" kind. This site is 3 year-old (summer 2001); there are dead-links here and there (please, report). If you want to work with me on the site, write. Most pages are still nothing more than my notes for myself. If you want to place your link -- help yourself: HTMLgear you see on my pages for that purpose -- submit your links, if I like it, I approve it -- and you are linked. My students print the pages they need (I do it too), it helps. I teach "full-time" and I update my webpages all the time.

Well, well...Acting (and even directing) is easy... if you love theatre and not "yourself in theatre" (Stanislavsky). The way you learned walking or talking. You wanted to enter this new wonderful world -- without any thoughts about "yourself and the world"!This is the third time I do the front page (old one, read the sidenotes, I use the right table for end and footnote). In fact, I should have several of them, because the "default" page can't serve all the directories I have. The monster lives! It's alive! I asked for it, I have nobody to blame. My fault, man. No problems. Nothing personal...
The main ones:
... Acting
Directing
Drama
Film
Theory
Classes
and as they say "many more"!Let me make a little tree picture (the formal directories are above):
Virtual Theatre

Spectator
Do you see it, the logic? (Sorry, the picture didn't come right).
Virtual Theatre goes with a lot of my own abbreviations: VT, vTHR, vTheatre, even etheatre! You can enter this forest from many places, depending on your interest. Or go through the Intro to Aesthetics
PS. or NB. There is an invisible underground revolution takes place on my websites: the growing number of the service pages (appendix, list, references, you name it!)
You see? It's start and ends with the SPECTATOR!
"For the Web, by the Web, of the Web!" The new motto. Because that is where the PUBLIC is, my friends. Yes, this site overgrew "for myself notes" and "for my students" stages. We are in minority. That is what three years of webbing do to you!
Do it again, enter the sacred world, where you always will be young! Step up on stage!
Poor Dr. Faust, the secret is so simple...
... Seven years ago, when I began my web-journey, the cyber world was shockingly inspirational, magic, promising... I do not know, if I could experience the same sensation again. Anatoly
This is the oldest directory and should have a summary of my webbing ("Diary of a Webman")
